The Studio
An independent editorial house
for writers who mean it.
The House
ASK Studio is built around one conviction: every book deserves the same care in its making that readers give it in the reading. I take on a limited number of projects so each manuscript receives thoughtful attention from first draft to finished book.
The studio has two disciplines working under one roof. ASK Literary is the editorial desk — assessment, coaching, revision, and editorial review. ASK Foundry is the production press — interior formatting, proofing, cover coordination, and publishing preparation. Together they form the complete partnership; separately, they can be engaged for a single stage.
The Editor
Hi, I'm April.
I started ASK Studio because I love helping authors turn good manuscripts into books they're proud to publish. My favorite part of the process is helping writers discover what their book is trying to become — then staying with them through revision, formatting, and publication until it's finally in readers' hands. I believe books deserve careful craftsmanship, honest editorial feedback, and enough time to be made well.
That belief didn't start with ASK Studio. Books have been part of my life since childhood, and publication design followed close behind — beginning in high school, carrying through college, shaping my first professional career, and staying with me through years of volunteer work. ASK Studio is where all of that finally found its fullest expression.
When you work with ASK Studio, you'll work directly with me — from our first conversation through the final proof.
The Mark
The ASK Studio mark began as a pencil sketch by my sister, Amanda. I wanted a tree that felt alive, roots digging deep, branches stretching upward, without feeling overly slick or corporate. She captured exactly what I had in mind.
Look closely at the roots and you'll find an anchor tucked in there. It's not random; it's a nod to the hope that steadies us, even when the work of writing (or life itself) feels uncertain. It reflects the heart behind the studio's tagline:
Rooted in Truth, Reaching for Wonder.
Like editing itself, some of the most meaningful details aren't the ones that shout the loudest. They're the ones readers find when they linger a little.
